Doctor of Ministry (Practical Theology Concentration or Christian Education Concentration)

This program is designed to challenge as well as equip the doctoral student with the necessary tools to engage in effective ministry. The Doctor of Ministry curricula is designed to provide the proper tools that leaders will need to successfully teach and guide ministries in various areas. The concentration will be in Practical Theology, therefore every aspect of the course will be geared towards ministry application.

This is a 2-year program including classes and a dissertation (150-page minimum).

Because COATA is independently accredited, it is not eligible for governmental financial aid. However, we still wanted to make education affordable, therefore tuition may be paid on a monthly basis ($250/mo). There will be a non-refundable $100 registration fee once the student has been accepted into the program.

Educational Requirements

Undergraduate degree- B.S. or B.A. (does not have to be ministry related)

Graduate Degree: Master of Divinity degree or relative equivalent (Must have some language experience- Hebrew and Greek)

Ministry Requirements: Active ministry involvement- Pastor, minister, deacon, lay-leader, Sunday School, or Bible Study teacher, etc.

If the student is a pastor, a letter from the church stating the length of time in which he/she has served will be required.

Other students will need a letter from their pastor describing the ministry work that they are actively involved with.
